Just a few days ago, the chaotic scenes that media reporters at both Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong Airports were the cause of the famous Andy Lau’s locking hands with his long-time [since 1986] girlfriend, allegedly wife, Carol Zhu. Details are covered at many Andy Lau’s fans sites like Andy Town, AndyLauSounds, etc.
The whole event has shed some light on the relationship of Mr. Lau and Ms. Zhu, which had been long speculated by media and unconfirmed by the couple. The crazed media coverage of the event leads to many fellow artists showing their full support for Andy and it seems no surprise for many of them. Idy Chan, who had always been linked to Andy due to their perfect pairing in the TVB classic ROCH1983, but has long been moving on from romantic relationships and now spiritually worships. Via the phone, she expressed “Andy Lau isn’t just a regular artist, he is a kind-hearted, yet spiritual man, if what we see is true, I just want to wish them the best of every single day, spiritually and mentally well, this is my heartfelt blessing to Andy.”

陳玉蓮做義工走遍香港各區
【16:55】2009年08月12日 【on.cc專訊】 陳玉蓮最近忙於做義工，幫助四川的殘障災民，稍後又幫電台拍十集專輯，蓮妹走訪香港各區訪問一些生活特別人物，她覺得自己的生活很充實很有意義。

Lately, the semi-retired Idy Chan has been waking up everyday to volunteer with great enthusiasm. She went to Sichuan last year and stayed over 2 months to help to those less fortunate earthquake victims. Idy said “I’m the goodwill ambassador for this charity called ‘Stand Up’, the purpose is to raise money for those limping earthquake victims. We cooperate with students at Christian Zheng Sheng College (CZSC), together we participate in many charitable events.” Besides her high spirit in serving the community, she’s been working with RTHK to shoot a 10-episode series focusing on the stories of people throughout Hong Kong. She playfully shared “RTHK is known for their fairness, I don’t mind working for them. This program requires me to travel to every corner to collect stories to tell. So I have to keep myself updated with current events, including the controversial story on CZSC, only everything goes smoothly so I can finish this special program.”

Idy Chan has been active again in the circle and traveling everywhere. News reporters aren’t familiar with her, and often asking for business card and telephone for future contact. Idy has developed a new habit, not only she exchanges business cards with reporters, but also requests to take pictures with them. Why is that? Because she wants to make sure which reporter when contacted, remember that they’ve met, recognize the reporter, and will able to communicate better with ease.

陳玉蓮放聲氣想拍古裝戲 
【19:34】2009年07月05日 【on.cc專訊】 陳玉蓮出席好友肥媽的家庭用品店「肥媽店」開張活動，透露希望復出拍攝古裝動作片，因古裝動作片的世界中，鏡頭下拍攝得很優美，故希望所有動作電影的導演可以找她演出。問到會否希望與周潤發合作，她說對方希望的話自己也希望。
Idy Chan, 草蜢 Grasshopper trio, Wong Ka Keung, Chan Chi Keung, Soler brothers, EO2, and etc. come to show support for their friend Maria Cordero, who just opens a household goods store in Tseung Kwan O, and plans to expand up to 20 stores in next 3 to 5 months. Idy and Maria have known each other for many years, asked if she has any interest in doing business? She said there’s restaurant business in Shanghai, and already have many locations, and mostly managed by family members. She used to go Shanghai and helped out too, but in recent years, she’s been practicing self-cultivation. She’s responsible for the designs and uniforms for employees. She said there’s an offer for her to do a costume drama, but she had to return to Canada. And lately many mainland productions have roles for her. Asking on if she’s asking for high fees? Idy said, “No, now acting for me is not about money.” She wishes to make an action costume drama, not afraid of hard work, and hopes that action actors and directors will appreciate her skills.
Asked if she has ever thought of working with Chow Yun Fat, she said “We never actually worked together at all. If he wishes to cooperate, then I could also wish the same”.

【16:21】2009年07月01日 【on.cc 專訊】 陳玉蓮出席動畫慈善首映，她表示未認識官恩娜前，對方給她的感覺是一名Sexy Lady，但認識過後卻覺得她是個男仔頭、很傻氣！陳玉蓮又指無綫曾向她招手，邀她回巢拍劇，更指劇本是為她度身訂造，可惜礙於工作撞期而未有接下，她笑 言日後若有時間而劇本又合適的話，一定會接拍。

Idy Chan along many others attended the charity premiere of new animation “Ice Age 3D”, she almost didn’t recognize Ella Koon, who appeared very appealing and would fit the name “sexy lady”. Idy felt awkward having a bob cut like men’s haircut. Idy shared that TVB has contacted her and it’s possible she’d return for a drama. The script especially made to for her role, unfortunately, there’s conflicts in schedule. But she still hopes if there’s a play with good script in the future, she’d be happy to accept.
Ella Koon did the voice dubbing for one of the characters in “Ice Age 3”, and asked if she invited friends for the premiere, she said she invited Idy Chan, they were in the same game show [related], and now they’ve become closer, many of her friends admired Idy a lot when she shared a photo taken with Idy with them online. Back to Idy, seeing how much people welcome her back to the circle, she joked “Most important is to keep yourself looking good, but youth is beauty, but now I’m old, have to accept it. (Will you get Botox treatment?) No, I refer natural, and don’t use much make up nor have any special diet.” (Are you afraid of aging?) Everyone is afraid, so I wouldn’t have Botox, just let it natural.”

【18:13】2009年06月13日 【on.cc專訊】 陳玉蓮接受《肥媽私房菜》訪問，肥媽問她的人生觀如此脫俗，是否與當年周潤發的一段情有關，她沉默了良久後說：「如果有人在我生命上對我有威脅，我會作出抉擇，離開佢。」她又指當年當有記者問到發哥的戀情，她都會即時收口，因不想自己受到傷害。
另外，陳玉蓮透露曾經決心不跟外界甚至家人聯絡，出家修道，當時父親曾經以為她死了，現在回想起來真是有點內疚。陳玉蓮接受肥媽訪問，談及跟周潤發的一段情。
Maria Cordero‘s show “Maria’s Kitchen” has a new segment called “Meeting with the Star”, and the star for the first episode is Idy Chan. Maria asked that Idy’s current lifestyle has changed significantly and if it has to do with her relationship with Chow Yun Fat during their dating? Idy gave a long silent and finally said “If there’s someone was a threat to my life, I’d decide to leave them”. She also explained that back in those years, if reporters asked about her relationship with Chow, she’d just shut up because didn’t want to hurt herself.
On her failed marriage with Peter Chan Siu-Moo, Idy explained “Actually, right after the very first year of the marriage, I already realized that there’s no way I can be with him the rest of my life. But I tried and gave my best, eventually it lasted for 10 years.” She also mentioned that there’s several years she was living in seclusion and didn’t allow her siblings to tell her father where she was. That her father once thought she was dead, now she’s feeling guilty to make her elderly father worry.

Last night [29th], many stars appeared at Hong Kong Concert Hall for “The 18th Drama Awards” by HK Federation of Drama Societies, and special guests for event were veteran actress Rebecca Pan, Paul Chun, Lau Siu Ming, Virginia Lok, Idy Chan, Angela Tong, Ella Koon, Eric Suen, Hins Cheung, Chet Lam, etc. Apparently, many actresses put a lot of thought into their sexy dresses and beautiful outfits for the night.
