While waiting for the Viet sub to come out, I finished watching Return of Condor Heroes. Up to episode 30+ of SSSS, watching Grand Canal for the rest of the SSSS Viet sub to come out hahaha…

yesterday’s light …the one with her and adam was very meaningful. i kind of suspected there was something wrong with him but I didn’t expect it to have that type of twist in the end. Its a reflection of society through a romance film. Another movie where she leads that left me in awe. The other one was “L’air de temps”. Not sure if that’s the movie title but it was the name of the perfume. Both leave the viewers reflecting about society, but two very different roles.

Princess 5 is my BEST favorite character of Costume Drama and Yip Lin is be Best selection character of regular drama. Both of characters were strong and truly reflect opposite side of Idy. Both broke my heart and made me cry.

My best and the most remembrance character of Idy was Princess 5 of The Grand Canal…..love love Idy and Tony as couple and happy of their ending.

My second favorite character was Yip ling of the Upheaval. I am never tired of re-watch both of her drama whenever I have time.

Just finished the grand canal selected clips!!! Princess 5 & Tony are cute but painful to watch if I were to watch the entire drama. There ups and downs in the relationship would have drained me since they seem to have so much misunderstandings and family background issues. But their relationships seems like one I would have rooted for since they both seem to sacrifice for each other a lot.

Oh well if you meant by calling them, then perhaps yes. I have faith you will see Idy eventually. She must be going to HK eventually if she said it would be okay to send her gifts to TVB. Perhaps an upcoming drama or event she will be attending? Does she have any annual HK event that she attends?

i just finished The Upheaval! Yip Ling’s character is so sad, I cried twice when she revealed her true self to Yik Lun even though I wouldn’t like to have Yip Ling as a sister (haha she likes to control a lot). However as a viewer, I like her strength, calmness and collective. At the same time, love her scenes when she and Yik Lun are together as a couple. So sweet!! And their ending, so romantic and sad.

Now that I look at this, was No Regrets based on this? Or the same writer at least? I see aspects that are very similar.

haha looks like not only have us fans been poisoned by Idy 🙂 Even Damian and the cast of SSSS. I hope they’d have a gathering again soon!! All these SSSS fanfics on baidu is making me very addicted to Arthur & Yee Yin XD

btw I watched Catch Me Now! Idy’s quite cute and can handle comedy well! It’s a complete opposite from Yee Yin and I was surprised she actually fitted the “naive-like housewife” role as Yung Yung. Too bad her voice was fluctuated a lot during the drama but I remember it had to do with an infection or something?

i didnt like how they classified Yee Yin’s role as a bad woman. clearly the only thing they could put her as “bad” was that one line she said to Ben. But I wouldn’t classify her as a bad woman based on that, argh.

I watched in cantonese and I understand Ben has very beautiful voice . so sweet when he visited her. She loves both men. Only yf can get her out of bed..I love yf and yy..

I feel Yee Yin is still the lead in the story. Her departure is one of the leads to the change in Arthur. Louise Lee in HOG left the story before it ended, but she was still lead. Idy’s role helped to shape majority of the plots for SSSS, without her, there’d be no entrance of Zi Kwan (whose suppose to fight for the change towards woman’s rights). So still a lead 🙂

Yee Yin’s departure has to be one of the biggest climax for the drama. So sad, so memorable.

Idy is really an excellent actress. She portrays all the emotions and it felt so real ! I watched the last 10 mins of episode36 and cried so hard.

I feel that the whole drama she should have been the lead actress. Right from the beginning when they were happy, to the misunderstandings, to the farewell – she acted so well ! I have never been a fan of any actors but now I am a huge fan of hers. I really hope she will act more – love to watch her !

I’m so glad you posted this. Seriously? TVB’s cut all the good parts and replaced it with all the rubbish scenes. It’s even come to the part where I don’t bother watching the drama anymore unless YY is in it 🙂

And totally agree with you there, the love triangle between Ron, Kenneth and Rebecca is pointless if you ask me. Why do I feel like Rebecca Chu is the main actress instead of Tavia? Rebecca gets a bigger told than Idy IMO and her acting’s just… Mehhh.

i knew the ending ahead of time too… but i very much just wished they could be together. but the way they set it up, had us all in love with the two at the beginning. I hope we get to see the deleted scenes eventually!

Such a sad ending!!! I agree, I cried more for the part relating to Yee Yin saying good bye to the family than for Arthur. I feel like their separation words further showed that Arthur really doesn’t fully understand Yee Yin yet. I wish he didn’t give her the letter!!! Im a bigger fan of Arthur & Yee Yin although Yat Fai will treat her better. At the end of the day, Yee Yin wants someone who gives her the full heart. She mentioned so many times, thats all she really wants. She doesn’t want to have to share. Its so sad 🙁 Arthur & Yee Yin are true love but bad timing and bad fate. I sort of laughed when Arthur said “Why is it everytime we try to get back together, he shows up?”. But for that moment when they were hugging and he tugged on her — I really thought there was that chance!!!

I hope the producer actually means for a sequel! At least have Idy film another drama again. Never thought I’d be so obsessed with Yee Yin’s role and come to like Idy, but I did! Does Idy do radio interviews anymore? For the longest time I really wanted Idy to go on Nancy Sit’s radio show, but I guess Idy is hard to make an appointment with. Hopefully Idy films another drama soon!

I think Kennath Ma is being to nice to Rebecca because she only care about Ron ng when he come back. Kennath Ma didn;t said anything to her. He just put in his heart.

The song is sung by Leon Lai [whose vocal is actually way better than Andy Lau’s] Making videos is real time-consuming and must choose songs with lyrics that fitted with the scenes. I did a couple videos a few years back, and it took me hours just to complete one video. So I’ll just leave it to the “experts”, there’s tons of fans out there that are really skilled at cutting scenes and creating videos like this. Plenty of videos with just YY and YF posted on Weibo, but most are badly cut or the songs aren’t so attractive nor fitted the story.

Ep.30 the family starts to fall apart, almost everyone is “expendable” to Arthur [jackass]. Yee Yin refused to eat and coming out of her room. She’s only scripting “Heart Sutra” as meditation to have some peace within herself (bế môn tịnh tâm) The maid informed her that 4 already left the house [just to drag the story as well as the story on the 5th… grrrr]

So that’s it for week 7 with less than a minute of Idy’s screen time… sux! Though, it’s good to skip following this week’s eps… I really need the break

Sound weird like girly

You must have watched the USLT (by Vietnamese voice-over actors here in US), but this version released at a much slower rate, only 2 eps per week (i think), while 20 eps already released for FFVN (by Vietnamese in VN). Yes in both editions, the voices for Idy’s Yee Yin are softer than Idy’s real voice. Though FFVN translated YY character as 3rd madame… weird!

Ep.28 – I only watched YY’s parts and flipped through the rest
-It’s really moving that YY was willing to die with YF. “I’m no longer YF” (YY “Even though you lost a leg, but in my heart you’re still the same”) “Not the same at all, you’re already someone’s wife, what am I? I’m a disabled, I’m dead or alive is not your business, just go away!” (“If you really want to die, I’ll grant it, you and I will die together”) “NO, NO, I don’t want you to die with me, I only want you to be happy, don’t you know?” (“I owe you too much… please don’t die”) “OK, I promise you, no matter how difficult the road ahead, I’ll go on, please please!”
-A called home in the morning to tell 1 that he won’t be home for breakfast [of course, he already had a huge meal last night], and no need to confine YY anymore.
-But YY grounded herself. She just wanted to be left alone and doesn’t want to associate with anyone else anymore, or else they would be harmed just like YF.

So A totally ignored J and 3 and they become drinking buddies… 3 was still sober enough to wonder if Muk Shui’s really dumb or just pretending. Too bad, A is just too jealous of what’s going on btw YF and YY to realize the real threat…

No YY in Ep.29, so I’m done watching this week’s eps.

mainly for the theme intro. Who knows if they cut Idy’s character on horse riding… Deleted scenes added up to almost 4 hours, we only know that they’ve already cut some intimate scenes. oh well…

Ep.27 – A forbid Jimmy from explaining anything, if he turned J in, his career would be ruined. So basically, A chose to be blinded and not knowing anything. He’s just a selfish jackass, while arrogantly came to YY’s room before the trial and told her, it didn’t matter to him whatever she’d said in the court, because he never loose any case. To me, he basically made YY to feel bad, while he’s protecting himself and J.

Also when YY asked him to sign the divorce paper, he was so damn lame to say that he didn’t have the time to read it, and tore it off and said he’d sign when he’s in better mood.

And he’s a “ridiculous” jerk when he scolded 3. 3 was asking which room he’d spent the night because she and 4 already had a deal. This is, if she had the Women’s Club backing the establishment of Anti-Slavery, 4 needed to be considerate of others by sharing A too. A went to 4 and said it’s his decision which room he’d go every night, not the wives. Poor 3.

So what happened with the paper YY gave A at the dinner table? Was it a divorce paper?

A said she could leave any time, but the jealous A did stop her truly when she really wanted to leave…urggggggg…. what a pity man!

It was so sad to see YY cried so much lately. If she told the truth, then why A did not share the truth with her to make her to understand him.

He would not turn in the culprit son anyway.

Just not make sense the story at all.

Next few episode, the control freak will sleep with the 5th girl….it is suck.

Yup – the drama has already reached its climax. Both Yee Yin and Yat Fai are the ones who suffer most. I’ve only flipped through Ep.27 but looked like YY told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth at the court so Arthur got acquitted. Yee Hei asked YY to visit YF because he’s suicidal. YY was so distressed that YF already lost a leg, can’t loose his life too, and if YF died, A would become a murderer, so 4 came up with a plan to get YY out of the house by collecting old clothes to donate to the church. Man… this scene reminded me so much of when Princess Lan Ling tried to get inside the palace, but this time Princess YY tried to get out of that cold mansion. I really hope there’s still justice in the end that the culprit get punished.

Has anyone watched vietnamese edition either by USLT or FFVN yet? I have seen both. I like USLT voices better, FFVN voices sound softer but so sleepy. I still prefer watching the drama in original actors’ voices, if I don’t understand anything, I can rewatch with English subtitles.. yeeha!

For sure 26 & 27 picked up some pace. I can’t believe the whole family started to fall apart by 2nd stupid son action.

I started to like 4 little now.

Yeah, too many yelling and fighting between YY & A. Who the hell he thought he was that he could order her to stay in the room like that.

Ep.26 – Forbidden room
So Yat Fai lost a leg, Yee Yin lied at the police station that she didn’t remember that she was with Arthur on the evening YF was attacked. YY to A “Why? Why? You scold me, you hate me, you can do whatever to me, now you made him handicapped, I didn’t know you’re that jealous, you’re so cruel, why did I marry you (A “So you really believe that I attacked your old lover, and you lied to the police for retribution”) I really wanted to start fresh with you, I’m just so naive (“I’m so disappointed”), I’m more disappointed in you, you planned the whole thing” [there’s a couple lines I didn’t get…] “You get out… I don’t want to see you no more” (“Starting today, you won’t get to see me anymore. You have to stay within this room to reflect, think carefully on how importance I’m, I’ll tell the servants to keep their eyes on you, taking care of your meals, don’t even think of leaving this room half a step.”) Then A forbids the rest of the family to have any contacts with YY…

Damn A, the deeper the love, the stronger the hate, yet two smacks are nothing to you. where’s the fairness, where’s the justice while both you and your son are lawyers? So YY is now put under house arrest and in isolation. Good thing that 4 and Ho Yee still care… But another problem has arrived, Muk Shui (Ron) has now entered the house… can’t wait to see how he’ll stir up the whole family… kakaka [my evil laugh]

A won’t sign the divorce paper and won’t let YY go easily like that. He’d emotionally torture her, and psychologically drain her wellbeing first. Rumored that she won’t leave until ep.38. While 4 character has become more likeable, it’s still difficult for me to watch her and Charles’ wife, this girl really needs more training. They just don’t get my votes regardless of how nice their roles are.

So, will YY divorce or leave him on 26? Too early if she does go to England.

on Weibo, ep.25 received lots of praises for its climax and performance of the cast, not only by fans but also well-received by other artists. I myself also commented on Ben’s photo of the sunset scene, he responded back with a “smooch” hahaha – what a nice man! Both Ben and Damian complimented each other on their scene as well as their artist colleagues. Ben also made many comments on his scenes with Idy’s and their bittersweet parting.

I don’t see any scene in previews showing Jimmy got arrested, so daddy just grounded the dude. And the game is really over between Yee Yin and Arthur…

I actually had a chance to re-watch the parts of YF and YY. They were so nice, cute and believable. Ben acted as PRO and I truly felt his heart which belonged only to YY.

At this moment, I wish they are together.

Ep.25 – A moment of Romance
-Mother and brother Yee Hei stopped by Chung’s mansion early in the morning to ask for Yee Yin since she hasn’t visited them for a while, coincidentally YY told the maid that she went out early, but the maid told them she’s not feeling well and resting the room, and that made Arthur believed that YY’s lying
-YY wandered the street with deep thoughts and flashback on argument with A telling her free to leave anytime. Luckily Yat Fai caught her before she’d fell. She thanked him for helping YHei, and he asked her to have a meal together but she declined, yet agreed to have a walk with him.
-YY exclaimed how beautiful the sunset was, YF asked YY questions but he already knew the answers, and he did most of the talking
“Have you thought of leaving?”
“You have decided to stay to prove to A that there’s nothing between us”
“Or you felt that you owed him too much”
“No, No, it’s not like that”
“Actually because you love him dearly, am i right?” (YY “I’m sorry”)
“Don’t be sorry to me. Love can’t be controlled. I totally understand. I’ve stayed behind because I wanted to take care of you, but I realized that the longer I stay, the more it bothered you. I’ll leave, I’ll go back to England. I was just a poor rickshaw boy, went to San Francisco, experienced near-death and become alive again, worked hard to be successful with fame and fortune, but these are not what I really want most. Did you know, there’s a highest mountain in England called Ben Nevis, I would love to come there to see the sunset, I’ve wanted for a long time now. The ship will depart at 5pm this Friday. If there’s someone willing to fulfill this wish with me, I’ll wait for her”
-YY confided with 4 that she met YF, and 4 supported whatever decision YY made as long as she’s happy
-Jimmy bribed the maid to get information from YY’s maid on the talk btw YY and 4. J told A that YY was with YF
-YF entrusted his business to YH. A went to YF’s office and told him to stay away from YY
-YY attended the family’s breakfast to everyone’s surprise and 1 asked how she dressed nicely, YY said she’d go out for an art exhibition
-J wondered why A wasn’t worry about YY going out
-YF pulled the rickshaw for YY the last time and said how their fate began with the rickshaw and they bid farewell… [hic]
-On the way back, YY met A on the street, and suggested to have a talk, A told her he still hurts and YY wanted them to have a fresh start. He asked her where did she go and she told him ask no more and trust her sincerity.
-YF’s leg was severely injured and the doctor recommended to amputate it…
-The policeman told Charles that A beat up YF…

Ep.23
-Yee Yin asked brother Yee Hei why does he do business Yat Fai, and now Arthur blamed her for covering everything. Both mother and YH said sorry and they won’t attend Charles’ wedding, YY said YHei’s decision not to work for A’s company is actually a good decision, but now she has to go back home and deal with the problem
-During the tea ceremony, 1 said to her new daughter-in-law reminded YY of the same thing 1 said to her when she got wed to Arthur, and she’s carelessly dropped the cup.
-1 scolded YY for ruining the good day, and asked YY not to attend the church ceremony and doesn’t want to see her unhappy mood affected others.
-YY excused to go out while everyone was about to set out to church [what a boring wedding]
-YY waited for everyone to come home and gave blessing to the newlywed couple. She also explained that being married to A for 20 years, she’s really sorry what happened today but she really didn’t mean to ruin the family and wanted the best for everyone.
-4 asked A to be more reason with YY but A told her not to bother whatever happen btw him and YY, and he’s mad at 4 too
-4 and YY had a small talk, YY seems to understand A better than 4 and told 4 not to because of her and ruin their relationship as well
-Philip’s (Shek Sau) son Lester (Stefan Wong) suddenly passed away and he vowed to have A to take responsible for it (A’s daughter Ho Yee rejected Lester cause the dude’s sad and he drove car up some place and got into accident – i think)

So sad on this episode 23. She was not concentration at all.

The wedding was sad

During the production of SSSS, Ben was also committed to another series in which his role’s more prominent than this one. But so far, they’ve made the story btw Idy’s and Ben’s characters logically enough.

Back to the drama, Yee Yin’s kid brother took advice from Yat Fai on doing business, so it’s good for him to stand up for himself, and it’s good that their family will be less dependent on Arthur, and too bad YY has to suffer because of her situation in between.. and that what happened in Ep. 23
