Download episodes from TvBoxNow.com *New episode added as soon as TVB airing finished, usually around or after 10pm HKT or US 10am Eastern/7am Pacific
I download “TV-DIVX (720×408)” files, as I can watch on TV [instead of computer] via the USB drive by just plug and play.
1. Make sure you have Torrent client installed on your machine, either download them at bittorrent.com (i use this) or utorrent.com
2. Open .torrent extension file with either bittorrent or µTorrent.
3. Either download all files or just select .AVI file [which is the main movie file] to download, usually takes about 1 hour or more to download depending the number of seeding available. The more people download [of the same file], the faster the download.

When it says “Seeding” in green color, that means download is completed [the video should be on your machine already], so remove it off the torrent program.

Thanks Trung. However, I prefer watching “new” stuff with best quality I can get. Often those “watch online” links aren’t always working because of streaming issues, and people stop sharing after the drama is getting longer than 20-25 episodes. Anyway, I like how Damian spoiled Idy so far in ep1&2. Great chemistry between Kenneth and Vincent, love how Vincent appeared as a carefree but deep down inside he’s always conscious about his situation.

Finally, I couldn’t stand it anymore, I had to fast forward almost the entire ep. 3 …sad – I’m not anti-TY, just because I really have no interest in her whatsoever. sorry!
Also, whoever does the work for SSSS pages on TVB.com gives me the perception that they deliberately post unflattering photos of “Yee-Yin Princess” [Idy]. BTW, I like the way Authur [Damian] addressed her like that in ep. 1.

Thanks for the spoiler. I read it. So, the 1st and 2nd are team. The 4th competes with Idy for sure…I totally feel bad for Idy. Again, she was so alone.
At least Authur loves her, but not as much when he married to the 4th (in the future).
Urghgggg, I hate the way TY looked at Idy where she was with Damain. What a jealous look.

i have more sympathy for the 1st. Oh why why Charles [Kenneth] is being so nice to his father’s future 4th, I must watch “her” because I want to see Kenneth… tough choice for me… grrr! I would replace some cast and change subplot a bit, so far quite many illogical scenes… in my head, I’m trying to replace “her” with Kennix Kwok and the new girl on the cover with ..say Myolie Wu… ok, enough of my wishful thought…

yes, it starts as a happy family and everyone is [or least pretends] getting along well, but rough time is ahead… Though, 2nd seems to catch on faster than 1st and 3rd when she kinda gave hints that he would take in 4th, yet the irony is that 2nd is the one who put the chess piece (symbolic of 4th) in his hand… grrr!
And here we go again, weibo negative comments already started on Idy’s …poor her, now with Ben’s has appeared, I expect more with comparing their real ages… or how she’s older than him [though in the drama, they’re at the same age]
The FFVN viet dub version might come out earlier than USLT, but I’ll wait for USLT… The US voice cast is better and more familiar to us 🙂

this one featured Kathy Chow周海媚 returned to TVB pairing with Eddie Cheung張兆輝 will get 60,000HKD [7500USD] per episode, and then the article mentioned that Idy only got 35000HKD [4500USD] per episode for SSSS.

Missing casting was not Idy fault.
About the fees, TVB is CHEAP! but I bet Idy was not desperate, otherwise she will pick other company. I think she saw it as charity. Acting is doing charity for TVB and her people in China as the same time.

There’s definitely few characters are miscasting, like Savio Tsang deserves a better role, hope to see more Shek Sau’s, so far his character seems minor… Anyway it’s TVB, so I must use a phrase in one of many English conversions btw Damian’s and Kenneth’s “What can we do?!” haha… [Shek Sau can speak English better than Damian]
we haven’t seen enough of Ben’s yet to judge if he’s right for role, but his first appearance is quite… romantic just like how he described his character in the scoop video…

Guys, I enjoyed BLOG each episode wrote by by Funn Lim. She is the best of recap.
Her talent of using words made me understand what happened of each episode and also made me laugh out loud. Love love love and enjoy to read it every time.

Curios questions
According to the story, authur was 62 and he married Yeen Lin around a decade ago so I assume she was no way older than 25 (people married between 16-22 for girl at that time). So it would make her of 35 the most right now. One of the episode the 1st wife said to authur don’t let 2 younger wives tired you out…. Ouch
So Yee Lin was 35 and 3rd was 30 the most of them. Was it weird if both of them were around or younger than the age of Charles the eldest son
Later the 4th was marred at age 20 and 5th would be 18????
All of wives were younger than his children age? Think about it make me urgggggg

Emmy, I believe NS is more capable of understanding full Cantonese dialogues than I’m. You should give her a call.
Not sure what’s the problem is, but I can’t watch anything on tudou or youku anymore. also youku streams videos within mainland China only, right? I don’t think Emmy knows how to navigate around these Chinese sites. I find it hard to find stuff at those sites too.

Ok, I can’t recap as much details as Funn Lim, she’s the best, I suck at these things, I’m more like “watch it yourself”, I’ll only mention key points (hopefully).
Anyway, ep. 8 started with Yee Yin ran away when Yat-Fai saw her. He’s surprised to see her at his party and she told him she just wanted to congratulate him, they had a little talk:
Yee Yin: You’re today is not the same as you were years ago [she talked about his social status]
Yat Fai: I’m today is just the same as I was years ago, I haven’t changed [he talked about his heart]
aw…so far I find Ben is the right fit for this role, and I don’t believe that he’s only 1 year older than Kenneth, he’s at least 44-45 in real life.
Then they made promises that if have time they’d meet over tea and talk as old friends [sure]
Arthur got home from the party [hate him here], Yee Yin told him that she went to support Yat Fai as a friend, then Arthur told her she should be happy instead of drinking in sadness, and told her do whatever she likes [hate him more]
YY visited her mother, and mother reminded YY how she was the one who gave up Yat Fai years ago [bad bad mother]
Again, at her mother’s place and brother Yee Hei was there this time, Yee Yin found out that her brother and Jimmy had some business deal with Yat Fai, and asked if Arthur knew anything about this, Yee Hei said business decision mainly made by Jimmy [bad boys team up]
Ep.9, Yee Yin was sitting alone at the restaurant [hic], a man’s voice “Miss, may I join you?”, Yee Yin slowly looked up and saw Yee Hei “I thought I still have some attractiveness, but it’s just my brother” [my translation is off but I find Idy’s quite charming in this scene, the brother is quite cute with his compliments too] Yee Yin “What a sweet tongue, use that for other girls” [cute interaction], and the brother purposely mentioned the failed business deal with Yat Fai [bad brother]
Yee Yin was in the hallway, but overheard only half or even less of the conversation btw Arthur and Jimmy, he told Jimmy to fix the business problem with Yat Fai, and not to let anyone know esp. your 2nd mom [this is the part she overheard], so Yee Yin walked in and argued with Arthur [stupid misundertanding] and he walked out ….[bad husband]
Arthur returned home in the morning [bad bad man], stopped by Yee Yin’s room, walked in and told her if she likes to be “misunderstood”, be so, if she likes to be in the “cold war”, let it so, and walked out before she could wish him a good day [please someone give me a dagger]
1st and 3rd talked but intentionally wanted Yee Yin to hear, 3rd ask “Sister, you’re going out?”, Yee Yin fiestly responded “Yes, I’m going to visit a F.R.I.E.N.D , Big Sister, I’m going” [notice how Yee Yin doesn’t have much to say with 1st and 3rd except asking 1st permission to go places]
At the balcony coffee shop [have seen this nice scene so many times already, and it’s only ep. 9, hope they’ll show more Shanghai settings in future eps.. but i doubt it], Yat Fai was expecting Yee Yin and happy that she made the appointment. She took out a small packet of money and told him how she knows he’s recently loss some business deal, but Yat Fai refused to accept. She told him it’s because of her that he lost so much money in business, but he told her it’s not. And he told how he knew Arthur spent the night with Kwan and didn’t come home, and asked why Yee Yin is not angry. She told him that she already expected Arthur’s affair with Kwan.
Yat-Fai “You’re just a 2nd mistress, it’s just so unfair, I never forgot that I promised to give you happiness, but I didn’t have such ability to care for you, I left you behind and went to US, I’m very sorry for that, but it’s different now, I won’t let you suffer anymore, go to England with me.” Yee Yin “Thanks for caring” then walked out, he ran after. Yee Yin “Yat Fai, the past is the past, please forget them”, “But how can I forget, can you? If you can give up being 2nd mistress, I can give up my career as well, Arthur doesn’t how to treat you well” She confessed “It’s me who let you down, I thought I could survive with our love, but I just couldn’t take that life anymore, I couldn’t eat those dried breads with water and salt fish with vegetables, I purposely let mother find me. Now you know the whole truth… [geeze, i wish i can translate this last sentence] NS – please help]. Anyway, ep. 9 ended with Yat-Fai stood stunned without a word [poor guy]
Though, not looking forward to ep.10… only 2 weeks and so much happening already, expect less and less Idy’s scenes… 🙁

OK, I’ll try with the general meaning (not translate :))
Yee Yin’s last sentences in ep.9
“It was me who let you down. I wasn’t brave enough to run away with you. I didn’t love you enough to give up my luxury lifestyle. I could not stand living a poor life (eat salt fish with vegetables…). It was my plan to let my mother find me and take me home. Now you know the whole truth, do you still love me?”
That’s why Yat-Fai looked stunned…

NS – your English is excellent – thanks for clarifying… I often look into much of the word to word translation instead of the general meaning.
I’ll try to limit discussion about 4th here – the character development makes no sense to me. And then later she’d advocate for women’s rights [according to spoilers circulated around]? Whatever!
Too bad, scenes between Yee Yin and Yat Fat are too little, she’d have to deal more with the husband and the family, don’t know if I can stand watching the next 30 episodes (what’s the point for those scenes of 4th and her troupe sister, good thing there’s always FF button)

Hate hate hate jackass husband!
He knew wife #3 really loved the necklace, won the auction and gave it to Kwan! What a bastard! I feel NO sympathy for Arthur when the 3rd cheating on him later. He got what he planned!
Then hate him more when he gave it to Kwan and got rejected by her. She threw it back one by one and fight and had sex, what a low scum bag and cheap actress! They deserved each other!
I love Fat Chai and Idy together now.
Ben Wong does look match for Idy, not much in different. I like her hairstyle when she came to his party…elegant and classy.
Ben was so nice and cared for her. For now i am happy if they do end up together in the future.

I don’t have the ability to do recap :), Emmy. Just call me now. I’ll do quick summarize about the story between them.
It seems that Arthur really cared about the 2nd wife. He was angry with her because she’s trying to convince him to marriage the 4th wife. He got mad because “my wife tells me that there is a girl who loves me. I’ll be happy if I live with her”. Yee Yin: “I talk to Kwan because I think Kwan loves you and she will make you happy”. Arthur: “That means you cannot make me happy? It’s because you do not really love me or because you love someone else? Do you dare to tell me that you don’t think about someone else in your heart and mind? Yee Yin admitted that there was something that she couldn’t forget. Arthur (extreme angry and disappointed): “So, I should thank you for helping us? …” It seems that their happy moments end from now… Arthur: “You continue living in regrets (your love), I have my life with new love (4th wife…) “

Crazy….I doubted little bit about the 2nd met with Kwan at the beach side.
Well, Kwan should thanks #2 for the connection.
Whatever, they already had an affair the night before…so I don’t care about them any way.
Now, the 2nd will live in HELL…to see her husband enjoys his life with new wife and more hell to deal with the 1st and 3rd since they treated her like the enemies.
At this moment, now I understand truly why the 1st and 3rd hate her. If they find out that she was the connector, she can’t survive in the same roof with them urggggggggggg

In the Chung family, so far we see only Yee Yin and Charles live truthfully to their own persons, while Arthur is too arrogant, even when he’s teaching Charles, 1st supposed to have the most power, but she acts like she did something wrong, 3rd complains too much without being herself. Arthur’s already provoked by 4th from beginning and he set himself “lower” to be with her. While I really enjoyed watching Arthur treated Yee Yin nicely and favored her in ep.1, 2, & 5 [to be more specific], but it’s really a good time for Yee Yin to discover herself. Half of her life is already set and controlled by mother and husband. Let the drama begin, though I wish it’s shorter by 10 episodes… it’s already d r a g g i n g and moving at a v e r y s l o w pace with many unnecessary scenes and characters… and ep.10 is one of them.

NS – thanks for the link. I believe tudou still works for me, but the streaming is extremely slow. For youku, I always get error message saying that the videos only stream within mainland China.
I still able to watch videos from 56 and sina. I have an account on 56 and forget the password, in order to reset/retrieve my password, Chinese words reCAPCHA is required, so I give up.
Mandarin is like French for me, I’m clueless. Mandarin version is dubbed over just like Vietnamese version, right?
Emmy, you could download the English subtitle from the link above. Download process is more straight forward than torrent download.

aw.. so mean, why you want to hang Yee Yin? She’s just too naive to think that if her husband’s happy with any other women, she herself would “an phận” even he’s mad at her, but things gone out of control. She and Yat Fai do have “unfinished feelings” to be settled, can’t blame her for thinking of him, yet feeling “guilty” as a married woman.
Haha…I don’t think Yee Yin is mean like that, perhaps it was just a test for Arthur and 4th. But if such scenario happened, not only becoming widows, they also would be hanged for murder.
ppl you want to hang are the writers and Arthur, after all they’re the “author” who created all the drama within his own family.

With VIP account, you can download the good quality version in less then 10 mins. Oh yes, I hosted most of my videos (which were showed in IFF) in 56.com in order to avoid the “TVB detectors” :). Well, I knew Aurthur would marry Kwan soon or later, but I did not like YY brought up suggestion.
Even though her feeling for the old flame, but she should not talk to Kwan directly into marry Aurthur. I like Idy, but it should not her RIGHT to make a call for her husband to marry the new one while her feeling not settle. At least it was my thinking anyway.
Her husband has tons of wife. So, she should tell him treat the other two nicer instead jump in the shack with the new one @><@ who woman should tell husband to marry other woman any way.
This story was nothing, but nonsense, the plot was not strong. Conflict was for nothing. Charles is a useless man and useless son of the family.

I don’t like the fact that she told her husband to marriage another girl neither. Or she did that because she knew they already had an affair the night before. He would marriage Kwan anyway. When she asked Arthur whether he liked Kwan or not. Arthur kept quiet as an admission. He was too “tham lam”. He loves many women, but expect his wives love only him.

@Emmy and @Ns, I don’t disagree with both of you on how naive Yee Yin actively pushed the idea of her husband be together with the other woman, but the fact is he’s ALREADY with her. This shows that YY understands him more than 1st and 3rd, and perhaps even care more for him than herself. She’s willing to sacrifice, well, she already did, her own happiness for his happiness.
Aw… why blaming Charles too? His own mother doesn’t have any power over his father, as a son, what can he do. Remember, Arthur is the king here, or actually more of a dictator.
[in Catch Me Now, Damian’s character is Jack, in SSSS, his character is Jackass]
Remember… watch some, fast-forward more, and you’ll enjoy this drama more than you’d think…

Arthur returned home from 2-wk vacation in Shanghai w/ 4. everyone’s happy to see him home. Then he told 1 about about 4, 3 heard and walked in, and both angrily reject the idea. both 1 and 3 said similar things “3 of us are all from noble roots, Big Sis from Literary Family, Second Sis is Qing Dynasty Princess, my father is the banker, we can’t accept to live with a maid, an actress, we all know she loves your money, you’re blinded by her, I won’t eat at the same table with her…” Arthur firmly said “I already decided”. Downstairs the whole house heard and shocked, esp. Ho Yee but Charles stopped her before she said something wrong. [Charles probably inherits some good traits from his mother, he’s calm yet afraid of his father] Besides Charles, Yee Yin appeared to be cool and collective as well, but we all know among the 3 wives, she’s the one who got hurt the most. [What a noble yet painful way for her to deal with the situation]
Arthur walked in and told Yee Yin in a sarcastic way how she’s the most calm in the family, then she gave her blessing and he said no needs [JACKASS]. He assigned her to take care of room arrangement and decoration for 4 [BASTARD]
The renovation is going and everyone is upset, Yee Yin explained that she’s just doing her duty, and that upset them more, then 1 and daughter, 3 and her 2 kids decided to stay at another house in the meantime.
At another house, Arthur stopped by and told 1 about 4’s last show, and everyone must go [SOMEONE PLEASE SHOOT THIS SCUMBAG]. He then showed 1 the house’s blueprint and asked for her opinions [she has NO power] (so many words in this conversation i don’t know), but after pausing on the map I believe it’s something about making the room for him and 4 bigger.. I think. NS – please help. And then he told 1 that it’s time for her to stop worrying about taking care of whole house [it’s like you’re old, it’s time to retire], Yee Yin has no interest, so 4 is now in charge…
3 at the shop trying on dresses for 4’s last show, then heard 4 in the other room, and she told 4 that this place is only for high class, not for “a chicken that tries to be a phoenix” (phoenix is 4’s stage name), and told the sale girl that she already booked this place including the dress 4 was trying on. 4 stripped off the dress [anyway, she’s ready to strip for anyone, anytime, anywhere], and 3 told the sale girl to have it.

Very nice recap. I knew Arthur was mad and tried to get 2nd wife attention. But he became stupider toward all 3 wives.
So the Jackass already gave 4th too much power. I can’t wait to see many big fight between 3rd and 4th which I am not interesting anyway.
However, I must give Eleana credit for performance excellent today
Arthur: “don’t shout as me” to 3rd
3rd: “I shout all I want”….countered back. Ah ha, at least she not afraid of him. 10 points for me
I feel bad as the 2nd cried. I knew her family depends on her. Off course she has no way to against husband wish.
Just too bad, she should use her power since he loved her most to put him in check.
Oh well, she is to that kind of malnupulation type. Ending with hurt herself and I believe she did not know that she loved him too. So until she realizes, it will be late.
I hope she has happy ending life.
This drama won’t win the academy award this year as I bet. I don’t like 4th character. I don’t know she will win the TV Queen or not. And if yes, I don’t care.
So far as long as each episode involve more 2nd, I will watch. Otherwise I will fast fordward.

In the blueprint, it has “Arthur’s clothes closet” inside Kwan room.
Arthur: “I have my clothes closet inside Kwan room [I’ll stay with her all the time]. You’d been taking care of whole house (and me) before. Now you don’t stay with us, I need another person be in charge. YY has no interest, so 4 is now in charge. You’ve been working hard for a long time, it’s time to retire.” [I don’t need you come back, I have my new girl] (Emmy, I agree with you. HANG THIS BASTARD)

I don’t understand him, if Aurthur wants to score with YY, then why the heck he was so nasty with the 1st????
Crazy man.
I don’t like the ending he will with 4th. He should be sorry his a** up after the 1st died, 2 & 3 left him. Then he must jump over the cliff instead of chase after 4th again.
I don’t like watching this nonsense drama any longer.

I’ve been watching the Chinese version, don’t understand any part of it but watched anyway for Idy’s parts. I can’t wait until the Vietnamese dubbed comes out, gosh I may even end up watching the FFVN dubbed before the US one comes out. I like Idy’s performance so far.

I don’t read these summaries. anyway, according to the captions, in ep.14 Yee Yin’s happy after reading a letter from Granny [my translation for Lão Thái Thái – she probably loved this person more than mother], then in next ep.15, Yat Fai was writing letter in the name of “Granny”, and there’s another scene YY was eating alone in her room 🙁

Ben acts excellent in his role,very mature and really like a man lhhah..likes the way he talks and look at idy.I had been love her of sll and andy over years yrs..still love her, i watch this series just cause of her and end up i really like Ben..never watch his movie before.he derseve to take lead role, hope he can act more with idy in the future..so far they good couple .anyone know or have his wife pics..wanna see..thanks cant wait until tomorrow..

Hm why you want to see Ben’s wife pics? Go to his forums and I’m sure someone will know. But I doubt if you’ll find any, because on his Weibo [China twitter], he only posts pictures from his work, their 2 dogs, and sometimes flowers/gifts from his wife, not her photo, which is pretty smart. also most of the artists want their personal life and their associates private. or better yet, you can ask him yourself. good luck.

Has anyone watched vietnamese edition either by USLT or FFVN yet? I have seen both. I like USLT voices better, FFVN voices sound softer but so sleepy. I still prefer watching the drama in original actors’ voices, if I don’t understand anything, I can rewatch with English subtitles.. yeeha!

You must have watched the USLT (by Vietnamese voice-over actors here in US), but this version released at a much slower rate, only 2 eps per week (i think), while 20 eps already released for FFVN (by Vietnamese in VN). Yes in both editions, the voices for Idy’s Yee Yin are softer than Idy’s real voice. Though FFVN translated YY character as 3rd madame… weird!

While waiting for the Viet sub to come out, I finished watching Return of Condor Heroes. Up to episode 30+ of SSSS, watching Grand Canal for the rest of the SSSS Viet sub to come out hahaha…

Wow… are you on vacation of some sort? Nice that you have time to watch these stuff again. Oh, how I miss the tensions in The Grand Canal, but also those moments when the eyes of our Princess A5 and 3L meet… I’m feeling mellow by just mentioning them… haha
This October will mark 30 years of ROCH1983, it’s really part of TVB biggest pride. Generally ROCH story is less favorite than LOCH story, but Andy and Idy have made the ROCH couple more likeable than in the novel, esp. SLL Idy. Can’t believe that they were only 22-23, so fresh, so young… Wonder if there’s another reunion of them in public for us to admire…

I don’t have to be on vacation to watch Idy’s series lol. I just bought ROCH original dvds, the DVD-9 version that was released later that’s cheaper. I guess I’ve matured when watching it this time so I was able to enjoy the whole series. The first two times I was too young to appreciate.
I always thought that LOCH is more popular too, but my sister thinks otherwise. Also, when buying LOCH, I was told that LOCH was out and they only had ROCH. I asked if it’s because people buy LOCH more, he said no it’s because people requested more ROCH so the store had to order more.

TvBoxNow torrents already stopped working after Ep.38, probably discovered by TVB. If you want torrent downloads, you can register hdzone.org, i believe links there still work. For non-torrent download, you could always do your own searches, many sites (ie. AzDrama) offer links to download via file sharing sites (ryushare,filecloud,bitshare,etc…) If you don’t want to register accounts to download at those file sharing sites, use Jdownloader.org to download them. Hope these help. I only link these download sites to help those who don’t know Chinese, I have no affiliation with them.

USLT edition for SSSS released out much faster than I expected, I’ve downloaded them but really haven’t watched it again because I’m so lazy fast-forwarding to Idy’s parts. I hope someone will do a version of SSSS with only Idy’s cuts hehe. Good scripts and storyline are important to her to film again, oh well, it’s true for all the veterans that TVB has been trying to get them come back to the company. Agreed with you, while I like Damian, but it’s time for her to work with someone else. It’s all about fate and timing, esp. Idy’s often nowhere to be found 🙂
