Ep.26 – Forbidden room
So Yat Fai lost a leg, Yee Yin lied at the police station that she didn’t remember that she was with Arthur on the evening YF was attacked. YY to A “Why? Why? You scold me, you hate me, you can do whatever to me, now you made him handicapped, I didn’t know you’re that jealous, you’re so cruel, why did I marry you (A “So you really believe that I attacked your old lover, and you lied to the police for retribution”) I really wanted to start fresh with you, I’m just so naive (“I’m so disappointed”), I’m more disappointed in you, you planned the whole thing” [there’s a couple lines I didn’t get…] “You get out… I don’t want to see you no more” (“Starting today, you won’t get to see me anymore. You have to stay within this room to reflect, think carefully on how importance I’m, I’ll tell the servants to keep their eyes on you, taking care of your meals, don’t even think of leaving this room half a step.”) Then A forbids the rest of the family to have any contacts with YY…

Damn A, the deeper the love, the stronger the hate, yet two smacks are nothing to you. where’s the fairness, where’s the justice while both you and your son are lawyers? So YY is now put under house arrest and in isolation. Good thing that 4 and Ho Yee still care… But another problem has arrived, Muk Shui (Ron) has now entered the house… can’t wait to see how he’ll stir up the whole family… kakaka [my evil laugh]

A won’t sign the divorce paper and won’t let YY go easily like that. He’d emotionally torture her, and psychologically drain her wellbeing first. Rumored that she won’t leave until ep.38. While 4 character has become more likeable, it’s still difficult for me to watch her and Charles’ wife, this girl really needs more training. They just don’t get my votes regardless of how nice their roles are.

So, will YY divorce or leave him on 26? Too early if she does go to England.

on Weibo, ep.25 received lots of praises for its climax and performance of the cast, not only by fans but also well-received by other artists. I myself also commented on Ben’s photo of the sunset scene, he responded back with a “smooch” hahaha – what a nice man! Both Ben and Damian complimented each other on their scene as well as their artist colleagues. Ben also made many comments on his scenes with Idy’s and their bittersweet parting.

I don’t see any scene in previews showing Jimmy got arrested, so daddy just grounded the dude. And the game is really over between Yee Yin and Arthur…

I actually had a chance to re-watch the parts of YF and YY. They were so nice, cute and believable. Ben acted as PRO and I truly felt his heart which belonged only to YY.

At this moment, I wish they are together.

Ep.25 – A moment of Romance
-Mother and brother Yee Hei stopped by Chung’s mansion early in the morning to ask for Yee Yin since she hasn’t visited them for a while, coincidentally YY told the maid that she went out early, but the maid told them she’s not feeling well and resting the room, and that made Arthur believed that YY’s lying
-YY wandered the street with deep thoughts and flashback on argument with A telling her free to leave anytime. Luckily Yat Fai caught her before she’d fell. She thanked him for helping YHei, and he asked her to have a meal together but she declined, yet agreed to have a walk with him.
-YY exclaimed how beautiful the sunset was, YF asked YY questions but he already knew the answers, and he did most of the talking
“Have you thought of leaving?”
“You have decided to stay to prove to A that there’s nothing between us”
“Or you felt that you owed him too much”
“No, No, it’s not like that”
“Actually because you love him dearly, am i right?” (YY “I’m sorry”)
“Don’t be sorry to me. Love can’t be controlled. I totally understand. I’ve stayed behind because I wanted to take care of you, but I realized that the longer I stay, the more it bothered you. I’ll leave, I’ll go back to England. I was just a poor rickshaw boy, went to San Francisco, experienced near-death and become alive again, worked hard to be successful with fame and fortune, but these are not what I really want most. Did you know, there’s a highest mountain in England called Ben Nevis, I would love to come there to see the sunset, I’ve wanted for a long time now. The ship will depart at 5pm this Friday. If there’s someone willing to fulfill this wish with me, I’ll wait for her”
-YY confided with 4 that she met YF, and 4 supported whatever decision YY made as long as she’s happy
-Jimmy bribed the maid to get information from YY’s maid on the talk btw YY and 4. J told A that YY was with YF
-YF entrusted his business to YH. A went to YF’s office and told him to stay away from YY
-YY attended the family’s breakfast to everyone’s surprise and 1 asked how she dressed nicely, YY said she’d go out for an art exhibition
-J wondered why A wasn’t worry about YY going out
-YF pulled the rickshaw for YY the last time and said how their fate began with the rickshaw and they bid farewell… [hic]
-On the way back, YY met A on the street, and suggested to have a talk, A told her he still hurts and YY wanted them to have a fresh start. He asked her where did she go and she told him ask no more and trust her sincerity.
-YF’s leg was severely injured and the doctor recommended to amputate it…
-The policeman told Charles that A beat up YF…

Ep.23
-Yee Yin asked brother Yee Hei why does he do business Yat Fai, and now Arthur blamed her for covering everything. Both mother and YH said sorry and they won’t attend Charles’ wedding, YY said YHei’s decision not to work for A’s company is actually a good decision, but now she has to go back home and deal with the problem
-During the tea ceremony, 1 said to her new daughter-in-law reminded YY of the same thing 1 said to her when she got wed to Arthur, and she’s carelessly dropped the cup.
-1 scolded YY for ruining the good day, and asked YY not to attend the church ceremony and doesn’t want to see her unhappy mood affected others.
-YY excused to go out while everyone was about to set out to church [what a boring wedding]
-YY waited for everyone to come home and gave blessing to the newlywed couple. She also explained that being married to A for 20 years, she’s really sorry what happened today but she really didn’t mean to ruin the family and wanted the best for everyone.
-4 asked A to be more reason with YY but A told her not to bother whatever happen btw him and YY, and he’s mad at 4 too
-4 and YY had a small talk, YY seems to understand A better than 4 and told 4 not to because of her and ruin their relationship as well
-Philip’s (Shek Sau) son Lester (Stefan Wong) suddenly passed away and he vowed to have A to take responsible for it (A’s daughter Ho Yee rejected Lester cause the dude’s sad and he drove car up some place and got into accident – i think)

So sad on this episode 23. She was not concentration at all.

During the production of SSSS, Ben was also committed to another series in which his role’s more prominent than this one. But so far, they’ve made the story btw Idy’s and Ben’s characters logically enough.

Back to the drama, Yee Yin’s kid brother took advice from Yat Fai on doing business, so it’s good for him to stand up for himself, and it’s good that their family will be less dependent on Arthur, and too bad YY has to suffer because of her situation in between.. and that what happened in Ep. 23

I find it’s OK for YY to have conflicting feelings for both men, one is first love, one is husband who had treated her well all these years. But often men are selfish and petty, they can have as many women as they want, why a woman can’t love more than 1 man. Back in those old days and even today in many cultures, once a woman married, she become a possession of a man. So just enjoy watching her story… after all it’s soap drama with dragging storyline to tease viewers…

I saw JJ and Kenneth as a very mean couple in Tiger Cubs. Yes – she’s good. She probably doesn’t have that innocent look to play Rebecca’s character. She can pull off playing 5th easily. I thought her character would appear much later, but she’ll show up in ep. 20

I think JJ Jia is a new actress with potential. I would’ve casted her with Kenneth instead of being Damian’s 5th.

Ep.15 – cheap Arthur
Ok, I didn’t think of the word “cheap” as the headline for this short recap, just saw this English word used in comments on this ep at Chinese board… hehe

So everyone is busy or already had other engagements [how hypocrite when A keeps saying that he’d like to see everyone at dinner table – no matter what], so Yee Yin had the servant setting the meal in her room. Just before that, she was looking at those unopened letters… [instinct kicked in huh] … She finally opened the letter… [I’ll not translate because (1)I don’t know names of any flowers mentioned (2)the letters would sound much better when translated to Vietnamese …i think :)] But basically, Yat Fai encourages her no matter how hard it is, keep on painting as the way to be happy and expressed her feelings through drawing. He sincerely wishes her happiness from miles away… Aww!

Then we see A’s at his desk and carelessly opened any letters within… he then realized the letter addressed to YY, and told the servant that it’s for YY, the servant immediately apologized for his mistake [like boss like employee, he should not get paid for whole month haha], but A said no need and that he’ll give it to YY. A also asked if YY often gets letters, the servant said no, but lately there’s been one letter each week for her [now, he should be fired]

A walked in and told YY that she must accompany 4 for doctor’s visit…[“cheap man”], and again… the ep concluded with all the drama about 4…

2nd son or Jimmy already showed sign of turning bad when he tried to scheme the first business deal with Yat Fai. Fat Yat’s hesitated but because of Yee Hei [who reminds him of Yee Yin haha], he signed the contract, and again, they had another deal in ep.13… i think? So it’s Yee Hei that Jimmy’s kicking… I couldn’t tell from the video. When A smacked him from left to right, wonder if it’s because he beat up Yat Fai or something else?

Ty is the lead. I wouldn’t say Idy is playing supporting role, her role is equally important. Doesn’t really matter to me anyway, I’ve already skipped watching 4 since ep.3

Ep.14 – Yat Fai’s bold move
OK – I couldn’t wait to know how “Granny’s” letter delivered to Yee Yin, so took advantage of my short lunch break and watched it online [phew… good thing it’s not blocked by company’s network … at least not yet]

3 saw how beautiful YY’s drawing is and suggested YY to donate it for charity sale at Women’s Club. Also, 3 is curious what happened btw YY and Arthur, but couldn’t get anything out of YY [haha]… 3 returned home and told YY good news that her painting was sold at high price, and the buyer is a lady who bought for her “Granny” and even passed a letter to the author of the painting. Aha! Basically, “Granny” is terribly sick [must be a heart-related problem hehe], and feels much alive after seeing the painting, would like to be “penpals” with YY [sure]

OK, this is probably the only highlight of this week for me, of course, I’m also curious why she had to eat alone in her room [hic]

Yeah, I guess nothing much to recap for this week, but I still need to catch up on Charles’ story by the weekend… it seems moving slow and overshadowed by 4’s story, which is quite annoying [for me to fast forward]

That’s okay sis. I just watched the WHOLE episode today for 4.3 minutes. I pasted forward the nonsense, so I truly did not see they got marry or not.

I did watch the serving tea for 3 wives. SO I assumed they did marry.

Emmy, you’re more committed on following each ep than me. those highlight scenes from tvb weekly are all about 4 and her unnecessary drama. i hate how the ending of almost every ep paused on her. If I can skip-n-watch this week’s eps by weekend, and depends on my workload, I might do a summary recap after.

I’ve been watching the Chinese version, don’t understand any part of it but watched anyway for Idy’s parts. I can’t wait until the Vietnamese dubbed comes out, gosh I may even end up watching the FFVN dubbed before the US one comes out. I like Idy’s performance so far.

Very nice recap. I knew Arthur was mad and tried to get 2nd wife attention. But he became stupider toward all 3 wives.

So the Jackass already gave 4th too much power. I can’t wait to see many big fight between 3rd and 4th which I am not interesting anyway.

This drama won’t win the academy award this year as I bet. I don’t like 4th character. I don’t know she will win the TV Queen or not. And if yes, I don’t care.

So far as long as each episode involve more 2nd, I will watch. Otherwise I will fast fordward.

Ep.11 is another must skip.
Arthur returned home from 2-wk vacation in Shanghai w/ 4. everyone’s happy to see him home. Then he told 1 about about 4, 3 heard and walked in, and both angrily reject the idea. both 1 and 3 said similar things “3 of us are all from noble roots, Big Sis from Literary Family, Second Sis is Qing Dynasty Princess, my father is the banker, we can’t accept to live with a maid, an actress, we all know she loves your money, you’re blinded by her, I won’t eat at the same table with her…” Arthur firmly said “I already decided”. Downstairs the whole house heard and shocked, esp. Ho Yee but Charles stopped her before she said something wrong. [Charles probably inherits some good traits from his mother, he’s calm yet afraid of his father] Besides Charles, Yee Yin appeared to be cool and collective as well, but we all know among the 3 wives, she’s the one who got hurt the most. [What a noble yet painful way for her to deal with the situation]
