Idy Chan to film new TVB series with Damian Lau (again)?

New TVB series of 40 episodes, Prominent Family (名媛望族), set in the 1920s-1930s era and produced by Chong Wai Kin. The filming will begin in November 2011 with following cast: Damian Lau, Idy Chan, Ron Ng, Kenneth Ma, Fala Chen, etc. Damian’s character will have 5 wives.

I agreed with Michelle. Damian Lau again? I was hoping that Andy Lau will be doing this drama series with Idy again. We were hoping that Andy will be back again this time with Idy doing the drama series way back in the 1920s-1930s. I think that Andy is the greatest actor with Idy doing this drama. Well, I can’t wait to see the new drama with Damian Lau if he can measure up with Andy Lau’s acting skills in Return of the Condor Heroes 1983. Idy, Its great to be back in TVB drama series. I wish you the best of luck in your acting career.

@Michelle: I believe Kenix was one of the original cast, but not sure why her name not mentioned in the article. Since the producer is still casting for 5 wives characters, the cast will definitely change, and not sure if Idy actually will be in the series. However, MingPao news often more reliable than any other news.
@Jennifer: Only if Andy Lau agrees to act in TV drama again, he’s a big movie star now, going back to small screens is like walking backward to his past of 25 years ago. In the movie world, esp. in HK, audience prefer to see younger, currently popular actresses. Movie with Andy + Idy won’t be a good investment for film producers, unless they really have a good plot, which is rare these days.

I am very happy when i read this news. I hope that producer Chong Wai Kin give Idy a leading role and I believe that Idy will perform well this role.

I heard Kenix may be filming a series at the end of this year & Damian’s name is mentioned but it’s not confirmed. anyhow, i still prefer to see someone else with Idy.

hopefully, it’s Adam Cheng? I don’t know, but there’s a reason news about relationship with Wong Hei and TVB, and Virgina Lok mentioned 3 names that TVB still keep “good relationship” and they hope to do the same with WH: Adam, Kenix and Idy (http://ol.mingpao.com/cfm/star5.cfm?File=20110904/saa01/maa2.txt) (translated:http://www.jaynestars.com/news/stephen-chans-powers-resurrected-danger-for-virginia-loks-camp-ahead/) So I guess their names mentioned because they’re recently considered being cast in some upcoming series. i hope this news about Idy has a role in this series is true.

Yep, Damian Lau again? And I still don’t know why is it so hard for Andy Lau and Idy Chan to pair up again. Sooooooo sad. 🙁
But because of Idy Chan, I still hopefully and pray for Andy Lau going back to act in TV drama again. (^__^)

I’m not sure if the audience wants to see Idy & Andy again. I don’t. It’ll remind everyone that they’re no longer in their condor heroes beautiful days & how they’ve aged. Let people know it but don’t let them see it.
