[still looking for this clip – related to the passing of Austin Wai – i think]

The video in which cast of “Silver…” rehearsed dancing, I noticed at the end that Ben mentioned Idy has returned to HK and will join them to perform a skit for this TVB event, I was like “Good for her, good for us – the fans” haha! Finally, she seems to be involved in the “promotion” for the drama. Though, it’s going to be hard for me in next few months to keep up with news and videos. If anyone finds anything, particularly video clips that involved Idy and don’t see it posted here on A5, please let me know. Thanks and Cheers 🙂

At the interview for TVB program “Best Actor” 《最佳男主角》 hosted by Luisa Maria Leitão 黎芷珊 this week featuring Tony Leung 梁朝偉, Anthony Wong 黃秋生, and Andy Lau 劉德華. Once again, Andy answered on his relationship with female artists in the circle like Anita Mui 梅艷芳, Rosamund Kwan 關之琳, and Idy Chan 陳玉蓮. He said “I did tell Idy my feelings, but she simply just gave me a smile.” Later he gave up knowing Idy was dating Chow Yun Fat 周潤發. “She could have been my girlfriend” he expressed. In the afternoon on Sep 22nd after just returning from Tibet, Idy Chan immediately rushed to a cosmetic center in Guangzhou. As it’s already winter in Tibet, and still wearing a thick leather jacket, she had no time to take it off to get ready for the grand opening of “Meien Medical Aesthetic Hospital of Guangzhou”. At the event, Idy was quite interactive with the fans on answering questions about beauty, however the focus of the talk was about the girl name Hua Yanwen whose face was genetically masked with big “mole” on 2/3 of a cheek and often bullied by peers. After the ceremony, the “Love Clinic” established and the manager together with Idy presented the girl $10,000RMB and free of charge for her first treatment at the center.

Idy also briefly mentioned her role in the upcoming “Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles” 名媛望族 “The character is quite resentful, just reading the scripts alone made me want to cry, and there’s crying in almost every scene.”

It’s believed that Andy has agreed to film a drama for TVB with Eric Tsang’s 曾志偉 pursue, and it seems that Chow is also in the talk to film for TVB also. It’d be great if Idy be part of these dramas as a guest cameo. In the meanwhile, I’m impatiently waiting for the airing of “Silver…”

After finishing reporting from Yushu earthquake struck area, reporter came to Qinghai–Tibet Autonomous Region to meet up with Idy Chan for an interview. Idy along with 4 others drove directly from Guangzhou with one main purpose: charity. For the past decade, Idy and entourage have been involved in spontaneous work of going to remote areas to help poor people. Their main goal is helping local children with food, clothes and shelter, so driving is the most convenient way to go directly to the locations.

Next stop will be Tibet, then Xinjiang, there they’ll need to 1000 jackets for the children at orphanages. Then Shaanxi, Shanxi, and then will return to “camp” in Guangzhou around Oct or Nov. It’s almost the same over the past few years, they set out the mission in Spring because the roads would be safer and return home in the Fall because of colder weather.

Idy Chan expressed that she has changed a lot from doing charity over the years and able to “let go of myself”; very content and gaining a lot of perspective on life.

According to Weibo, the premiere date to air “Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles” is Oct 22.

With Idy takes break from her work during the fall and winter months, hopefully we’ll get to see her involved more in events for the new drama this time. Let’s hope….

Idy attended friends’ wedding over the weekend [6th] in Guangzhou, can you find who else in the photo? This couple must be in some entertainment business, they know many other HK celebrities who sent well-wishes via video [Weibo].

Tencent QQ made an on-set visit on last day of filming in Shanghai and interviewed the cast. Damian denied the rumors of taking up the role as the scriptwriter “I’m not the scriptwriter nor the editor, but we do have actors with creative ideas. Because we’re treating each other like family, if we found some relationship or something missing for certain role, we know how to adjust, and it’s important for story contents. I have some contribution in this regard.” Director Chong Wai-kin clarified “We have 2 editors and 4 scriptwriters, the news about scriptwriters are too exaggerated”. Actor Vincent Wong said “Scripting issues did have some impact on the shooting, however, we are a very united family, if there’s problem, we were all in it together to resolve it, a setback may turn out to be a blessing in disguise, so it’s good to experience these things.” Idy clarified more “Every company must have young people, as well as experienced scriptwriters, TVB actually have many scriptwriters now. Everyday I’d see them working non-stop to study the scripts. [Scriptwriter] Sharon Au Koon-Ying would have several young people along the side to understand each character to improve the storyline. They’ve worked really hard.”

Idy Chan refers to herself an “old” rookie. It’s quite a pressure for Idy to film this time “Several years back, when I returned to film ‘Catch Me Now’, they gave me an easy role. This play is more serious and I really have to do some homework. When not shooting with Damian, if my part wasn’t done well, it impacted others. He gave us a lot of advice and suggestions, if seeing something’s wrong he’d immediately address it, it’s good to have such a great teacher on the set. He said ‘you’ve been out of the showbiz for so long, just watch Tavia Yeung and Elena Kong’, I used to think that they’re rookies, however, I’ve been informed that they’ve been acting for so many years, just because I’ve out of the circle so long, I’m now instead a very old rookie.”

“Idy played my second and most favorite wife, however, she’s unable to forget her first love. I wanted to break that feeling away from her and succeeded, but her old lover came back, and she left me. During that time, we realized that we loved each other, yet the time was wrong” Damian discussed each of his wife characters. “Off screen, Idy and I have a very good friendship, she treats me so well. I’m not sure if she agreed to film this series because of me, I had so many difficult scenes, but with her caring and support, I was able to keep on filming for so many months.”

[Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/: TVB new series Silver Spoons, Sterling Shackles completed shooting in Shanghai and the cast including Kenneth Ma, Rebecca Zhu, Idy Chan and rumored couple Sire Ma and Adrian Chau returned to HK last night. It was rumored Idy plans to become a Buddhist nun, but she explained she is going to bring her hair along to become a nun. She pursues the life of eternal happiness and believes becoming a nun is the way to find true happiness. Idy does not agree that she is avoiding society and said with a smile that she’s very much into society. If she’s avoiding society, then she won’t be acting. Idy makes her comeback in acting because of her well-known mark, and for the convenience of doing charity in Mainland. When she introduces herself to the Mainland people living in the mountain areas, she won’t have to always refer herself as ‘Siu Lung Lui’.]
