hm.. unlike Idy, i’m not very fond of Linda & dont really like her performance. i watched Forensic Heroes & she was like ok only. Heart of Greed, she improved, but i still fast forwarded most of her parts.
it’ll be nice to see the veterans returning to the screen. Jamie is a nice choice.
late scripts, this happened during the filming of At the Threshold of an Era as well. they constantly changed the stories so artists only received their scripts at the last minutes. this is tough!
like Idy, my vote goes to Michelle Mei Suet. however, she has a slim chance of winning, if not at all. Lee Si Kei is a fine choice. despites Heart of Greed’s popularity, i feel that the villainous character of Mei Suet in The Brink of Law deserves the award more than anyone.
Soooooooo CUTE!!! I love the clips so much!!! Idy & Andy are so cute together!! Andy is especially cute with how he is so sweet to Idy!!! Amy is good. She guessed Chan Yuk Lin! No one really expected Idy to be there because she wasn’t active with filming.
I love being able to see so much about Idy recently!!
dun worry Damian & Idy has no big disagreement in filming. It’s just that Daimian believes he can convince Idy to film intimacy scenes if the plot required. But Idy firmly sticks to her mind that NO intimacy scenes for her. Let’s see who will win at the end hehe.
BTW, Daimian praised Idy’s acting skill is still there though she didn’t film for 14 years. “I had thought she would need some times to pick up acting but instead she didn’t ng much. Maybe she got a well preparation and let out all her emotion for not shooting in these 14 years.”
From the original article, Hacken did audition for the role of Kwok Jing. But he didn’t get it since the producer chose Chilam over. Just can’t image how he looks like in ancient costumes. Had he ever played one? kit
i have read somewhere before that Hacken was supposed to play some ancient role, & after seeing himself in the costumes, he realized that they look not too good on him, so he withdrew from the role. however, i didnt know the role was Kwok Jing. i’m so glad he turned it down. Hacken should stick with modern looks.
Haha! In case you didn’t know, TVBSquare.com shared the secrets how to get inside TVB City in one of his/her HK trip blog entries. Email me for the exact link. If I have extra time in HK, I would try to make a trip to TVB City just to see the “outside” of it. We’ll see!
Damian Lau is so sweet to her!! I was in different about him. Now I like him. He sounds like a very sweet and caring person! I wonder if he will really pour tea and water for Idy during filming. Does anyone know if he and Idy will be paired up in the series? I don’t see anything wrong in filming love conversations. Oh well, that’s Idy’s choice.
wow…I love Idy’s new hairstyle and attire. She looks sooooo pretty and trendy!!! And Damian Lau is funny when he said he’d be Idy’s maid during filming hehe. Hope there will be more news coming when the shooting starts. But guess we need to wait until next year that we could watch the series. kit
LOL michelle, I was exactly thinking the same thing you were about Idy being the only one getting to sit on a chair and the attention is focused on her.
She seems to have lost weight compared to the other pics, probably because the way she dresses makes her look younger…She looks elegant, except for her hair. Somehow, it looks awkward.
Anyway, still very excited about her series and hope that it’ll have high ratings and help her w/ her career. Hope she films for series after this one. Aww…I’m so greedy… lol
Aww…that is so cute how Damien says that he’ll act for this series just because of Idy!!!! Also, yes I agree that Damien looks refreshing in that pic. Lately, I was watching his series The Drive of Life and indeed he does seems to age and he has wrinkles..but he looks fine in that pic. 🙂
Yeah, Idy does have the seniority appeal. The chance of Idy & Kenix Kwok in the same photo is possible! It’d be so MAJOR SURREAL if Idy Chan & Aaron Kwok in the same picture!
Thanks Helen for your complement on my Chinese & …intelligence! I’m NOT so sure about the later! Thanks again! Yeah, the opposite effect when it comes to Idy & SLL/ROCH.
I LOVE Idy’s reference to ROCH. It’s so sweet of her to say that it feels like she is coming back out to meet YG after 16 years. It’s really a weird coincidence. As much as it seems like Idy does not like to be associated with SLL, ROCH seems to take a big part in her heart.
I heard of this tv programme which jointly held by TVB and Hunan TV station. But it doesn’t air in the local channel (at least not the free tv channel as I know so far) so I didn’t watch it. Just great to know that Idy was invited to sit in the judge panel. I think she is still popular in China, huh? I hope someone will record it and post it on the net.
btw, Erin your translation is all correct and from what I read from the Chinese version, yours is more detailed. I don’t know this programme is copied from the UK one 😮
Perhaps it’s been such a long time since I last watched Damien Lau’s work, I don’t think I have anything against him or any roles that he played. Maybe TVB will have Miu & Idy working together on the next project? Let’s just hope so!
really? i always thought Damian is younger than Adam, cuz he looks younger. if they’re at the same age, then Adam ages better but Damian still looks younger to me.
about Joe, i got negative impression of him from watching his villain roles. i think i 1st saw him in Kindred Spirits, in which he was a player. he was married, but still lied to Kenix to fool her. his most unforgettable performance, to me, gotta be his role in At the Threshold of an Era. gosh, he was so convincing that i cant bring myself to like the actor. he’s an excellent actor, that i must admit, but still, his character Yip Wing Jun still leaves a deep negative impression on me.
i actually hope that Idy could pair up with Michael Miu; Adam is a good choice as well. however, i’m glad she could work with Damian. i havent seen them collaborate before so this should be refreshing. she had worked with Adam several times so i dont anticipate them as much.
I can see that Joe isn’t somebody’s favorite here! HAHA! That’s interesting to hear there’s some resemblance between Fala & Idy? I would prefer to see Idy plays opposite Adam Cheng, who ages better than Damien Lau. I believe they are almost the same age.
Hmm…seems like both Joe and Fala is looking forward to collaborating with Idy. So glad to hear that. Yeah, I agree with you that the press tends to refer to Idy as SLL and she’s annoyed with that (actually, I’m quite irritated with that too).
As for Fala Chen, somehow, I think she resembles Idy to a certain extent. Her looks and smile, I mean. For those who don’t know anything about her, she’s Miss Chinese International 2005 first runner up and you know TVB tend to promote their pageant winners a lot these days. I have a hard time understanding her accent though.
As for Joe, I never really liked him. Yeah, and all his rumors, I don’t like. I don’t even think he’s handsome. He usually plays the evil and greedy type of characters that gives me a bad impression on him.
Idy and Damien pairing up. I use to dislike Damien a lot after watching Yesterday Glitters and An Awakening Story, but he kind of redeemed himself in The Drive of Life. So I’m fine with him pairing up with Idy. He’s a great actor even though he looks kind of old now.
yah i agree. i’m sure Idy wants pp to remember her as THE actress Idy Chan, instead of the character she portrayed.
i know nothing about Fala Chen either. i’m pretty much clueless about the newest generation of artists. about Joe, not looking forward to watching him, but oh well…
She said in Apple Daily interview that it’s a family oriented, educational kinda series. Personally, I expect the plot to be light-hearted, not spaghetti-complicated. I’m a sucker for tall guys, so why not Joe Ma? Yet, I agree that he’s more convincing as a villain!
you like Joe Ma? hm… i’m a bit disappointed to learn that he’s gonna be in the series. to me, he’s only great at being the bad guy. i bet you the series will focus on Damian’s & Joe’s characters. maybe they both are thieves; Damian is the master while Joe is the novice. just guessing ^__^
It’d be so MAJOR if we get to see Idy on the big screen before her work in the small screen. Simon would probably help Idy networking with directors. Maybe he’s really helping Pang Ho-Cheung to find a leading lady for Pang’s next film just like he said.
Erin your translation is all correct and in details, much better than mine hehe.
It’s just so good to see Idy being this active in public now. She looks really great there. Also the dress is beautiful.
hmm..I don’t know Idy is good friend with Simon Yim either and that Simon wants to introduce Idy to other directer. He’s a real good friend rite? Maybe we could watch Idy in the big screen before she film any TVB series haha.
Yes, I also can see that Idy gets uncomfortable when being associated with Siu Lung Lui. But of course, she can’t control what people say or think about her. Ironically, she said her best performance is acting the role of SLL.
Simon is also very kind that he really wants to re-introduce Idy to HK filming industry & that Idy is also the Best Leading Actress in his heart. I do really hope to see Simon & Idy together on-screen.
Behind every popular blog is a reader. Of course, I made it up.
There’s no bigger size of the group photos for now. If I can find any, I definitely will link to the thumbnails. Maybe you should try to watch the video for better view.
Ooops…wrong grammar. I originally wanted to say “You” but changed to ” Your blog” and I forgot to change “have” to “has”. Bad grammar is my pet peeve. So, it bugs me especially when the wrong grammar is on my part 😛
Hahahaha…your comment cracks me up!! LOL LOL Yup, I do watch this blog 24/7. Your blog have my total devotion and support!! ; )
Thanks for the photos! Idy looks AMAZING!!! What a natural beauty! I can’t enlarge the group photos with Amy Kwok. According to the thumbnails, she looks the same age as Amy. She ages gracefully and beautifully!!
Thanks for your comment Helen! Trust me, you don’t want to help because it’s lot of work & overwhelming sometimes. I was only thinking out loud for the English script, I don’t have the luxury of time anymore. Blogging news is so much easier & convenient than making website news. I guess old dogs can actually learn new tricks under some circumstances.
Andy & Idy are forever a couple in every fan’s heart. At least now we know they both admitted that they played Yeung Gor & Siu Lung Lui with their true emotions. It’s really 戲假情真 “fake act true feelings” between them in ROCH1983.
People cannot forget Andy & Idy as a couple! They often ask Andy about Idy. It’s super sweet of Andy to always say nice things about Idy and admitted his feelings for her.
It’d be a lot of work to provide English script for the show. I am sure Viet fans are satisfied enough to see Idy on-screen that they may forget all about not being able to understand her. I wish I could help!
Thanks Helen! It’d be nice if English translated transcript included, but there’d be too much work for me. For Viet fans, Cantonese lessons recommended 🙂
it’s so sweet of Andy to keep indicating that Idy left him the deepest impression. even though the news reports this quite a few times, i wont mind hearing Andy say it again. ^___^
