Damian Lau is very ‘lucky’ in TVB new pre-modern series The Prominent Family. Aside from pairing up with Idy Chan once again, Damian will also have four other wives — Mary Hon, Elena Kong, Tavia Yeung and JJ Jia. The age ranges from young to old. He laughed and said he can highlight the spirit of brotherhood in Chinese men through this role. As for luck of having so many wives, he laughed: “It’s not a benefit to me! It’s a benefit to them!”

Damian said his collaboration with Idy this time around sparked more than last time: “Because we have a bed scene, I have one with all my wives. Also my role has large emotional variations, I will be crying crazily!” Idy laughed and said in reality, Damian should find a young girl to moisten himself. He immediately replied: “Can just dream about it! Not necessary, I can’t handle it!”

Filming 40-episode long series, both Damian and Idy mentally prepare for lack of sleep.

In the series, Idy will portray Damian’s second wife while Tavia will portray his fourth wife…

Disappearing from the public eye for a lengthy amount of time since, Idy Chan noted that she has not collaborated with Damian Lau since 2008’s Catch Me Now < 原來愛上賊>. Idy revealed that it was due to the producer and Damian’s involvement in the project that she decided to accept the role. Asked whether her acting may have become stiff due to absence from the screen, Idy laughed and said that was not the case, although the amount of time required to put on her make-up took longer! Regarding Andy Lau’s (劉德華) wife’s pregnancy, Idy noted that she was unaware of the news and will have to call him for confirmation.

Since Idy was working in mainland China earlier, Idy did not realize that Andy won the Best Actor and Deanie Ip (葉德嫻) won the Best Actress Award at the 2011 Golden Horse Awards. Idy indicated that she only knew Deanie had won the Best Actress Award at the 68th Annual Venice Film Festival earlier.
